Automotive Program
As a former automotive student of Leeward Community College, I can honestly say they have an excellent program with caring Instructors who want to see their students excel to the best of their abilities. The Instructors are very patient and passionate about sharing their knowledge to students. Teachers always inform students of scholarships and job opportunities to ensure their students reach their goals in the automotive industry.
As the only female in the graduating class of 2019 with an automotive degree, I understand the struggles of being a female in a male dominated career field. It can be very frustrating and intimidating, but I've learned that any thing is possible as long as you have determination.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You don't need any car knowledge to attend the automotive program at Leeward Community College. Friendly Instructors will teach you about different car parts, where they are located, how they work, and how to diagnose a car.
Learn how the starting and charging system works.
Learn the different parts of the engine and how they work together.
Learn the difference between a manual and automatic transmission.
Learn the parts of the AC system.
